Welcome to CGCENet

CGCENet is the web space of Alex Macfie (CV found here), an IT professional specializing in database administration and security. In November 2006 I gained an M.Sc. in Advanced IT Using Oracle, with Distinction, at the University of Westminster. My project was to design an RBAC database security model for a medical database, and to analyze the capabilities of Oracle, PostgreSQL and MySQL in implementing it. I am currently working full time as a DBA for the Victoria & Albert Museum, and studying part-time at University of Westminster for a PhD in Data Security models in the Semantic Web.

  A Perl script to convert ZX Spectrum BASIC programs into plaintext. Its input is .TAP, the standard used for SAVEing and LOADing prgrams in Spectrum emulators. Click on the link to download the program, and remove the .txt from the end of the file name. You should then be able to run it if you have a system with Perl running.
